The
UK Debt Charity CCCS and Martin Lewis's
Money Saving Expert have joined forces to publicise the use of unsolicited debt text messaging from unscrupulous organisations targeting people with debt problems.
Using Twitter, both the CCCS and Money Saving Expert are encouraging people to report any text messages that they receive from debt and loan companies, a move which has proven to be highly successful according to Leeds based CCCS.
Trust Deed Scotland, who have provided ethical debt advice to thousands of Scottish residents backed the campaign and advised "We are pleased that this type of marketing has been exposed publicly and we offer our support in any way that we can.
We are very proud to offer the people of Scotland only ethical debt advice but some people are unaware of companies offering debt help solutions that do not fit an individual's best interest or involve the use of setup fees and other hidden charges.
Debt advice should be free, transparent and balanced. If you feel like you are being sold to, chances are that you probably are being sold a debt product."
For free, impartial debt advice you can speak to Citizens Advice Scotland, CCCS or even your local authority. Trust Deed Scotland has helped thousands of Scots get back on track and introduced solutions such as Trust Deeds and Debt Arrangement Schemes to individuals struggling with debts and in need of
Scottish debt help.
If you have received a text message offering you a loan or a debt solution, you can report it immediately on Twitter, using the tag
#debttext or if you are a member of the Money Saving Expert forum you can report it there too.
For a free and confidential discussion regarding your debts and to find out more about the advantages and disadvantages of debt solutions in Scotland you can call Trust Deed Scotland on 0141 221 0999.
