Scottish Trust Deed

Debt in Scotland is affecting the lives of many families in our towns and cities with the rising cost of living, fuel increased and the popularity of short term financial tools such as payday loans and overdrafts.

Ideally in any situation, dealing with your finances before they get out of hand is the best way of resolving your debts but for many people in Scotland this is no longer an option. Threatening letters, debt collectors and enforcement action can cause sleepless nights, depression and many people for one reason or another have quickly developed an unmanageable debt problem.

Scottish Trust Deeds are essentially a type of personal insolvency in Scotland and every year thousands of Scottish based residents are using this form of government

legislation to repay and manage their debts and get their lives back on track.

For more information on what a Scottish Trust Deed is, see What are Scottish Trust Deeds?. Complete the form above or call us in confidence on 0141 221 0999.

What are the benefits of Scottish Trust Deeds?

If you live in Scotland and you are struggling with your personal finances, you can repay ALL of your unsecured debts and become debt-free in typically 36 months with Trust Deed Scotland. After the completion of your repayment period you will write off any unsecured debts that are remaining, which can be up to 90% of the original amount.

To get a Scottish Trust Deed your unsecured liabilities must generally exceed £10,000 and this includes things like credit card debts, bank overdrafts, unsecured loans and high street store cards.

Are there any drawbacks?

Yes. Most homeowners with surplus equity may not benefit from managing their debts with a protected trust deed and your credit rating will be affected for a number of years. You will find it more difficult and expensive to get further credit in later years and should you fail to keep up repayment, you could ultimately be sequestrated.

You can get a full breakdown of all the facts by calling 0141 221 0999.
